Red Bulls II continued its losing ways, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in USL Championship action before 587 spectators at MSU Soccer Park in Montclair, N.J. Friday night.

NYRBII (3-9-4, 14 points) is seventh out of eighth teams in the Atlantic Division while second-place Tampa Bay (30) improved to 10-6-0.

The hosts took a 1-0 edge in the ninth minute as Jake LaCava tallied his fourth goal of the season from just inside the 18-yard box that went to the far post. LaCava tied midfielder Jeremy Rafanello and forward Omar Sowe for the team lead. Forward Serge Ngoma recorded his first professional assist.

The Rowdies answered back in the 33rd minute, as a carom off a corner kick found the head of Jordan Adebayo-Smith, who guided the ball into the back of the net past goalkeeper Luca Lewis.

Two minutes into the second half, the Rowdies struck for the game-winner. Laurence Wyke sent in a low cross that was headed home by Max Lachowecki.
