Red Bulls defender John Tolkin put Saturday’s home game against struggling Inter Miami CF into perspective.

“I think this is definitely a tricky game,” he said.

Yes, it is.

The Red Bulls (5-5,2, 17) are coming off a 1-1 home draw with the Philadelphia Union but need to take advantage of Miami (2-7-2, 8) at Red Bull Arena in 7:30 p.m. encounter.

“Everyone is disappointed from last week, but we are back at home, and it is really important, especially because I do not think they are in the best form right now,” Tolkin said. “But they are also a really dangerous team. So, they will take advantage of any chances they get so, I think it is really important to build up some more momentum up for us and get these three points. This is a very important game.”

Miami might be in last place in the Eastern Conference, but the second-year MLS team has some influential players who can change the game in seconds.

That includes the likes of the Higuain brothers, Gonzalo and Federico. A former Argentine international, Gonzalo has starred for the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan. Gonzalo has performed in MLS since 2012 as sone of the most reliable players. He played for the Columbus Crew and DC United.

“You see these guys on TV, winning the Euros and playing in European competitions,” Tolkin said. “It is definitely pretty cool, but you need to still realize that their another player and you just need to get the job done. But it is definitely going to be pretty cool seeing them in the tunnel before the game.”

Red Bulls head coach Gerhard Struber agreed.

“We have to be clear to give the Higuain brothers and other big players no hope to develop the game,” he said. “We have to kill every moment when they come on the ball. When they come on transitions for that, we need a very good organization, very good rest defense, and a very good communication that everyone is ready to handle and manage the transitions from Miami in our way. I think when we our ready for that, then it is a big advantage for us.”
