MIAMI – The Concacaf Gold Cup final Las Vegas sold out in 90 minutes, the confederation announced Friday.

The final is scheduled for Aug. 1 at Allegiant Stadium.

The championship game became the fastest sellout in tournament history. It is also the first sellout for a sporting event at Allegiant Stadium. All general seating tickets sold in 90 minutes after going on sale to the general public. More than 60,000 fans are expected at the final.

“After a week that saw a compelling Concacaf Nations League Final attended by a capacity crowd and viewed on TV by millions of fans, we look forward to what will surely be an unforgettable 2021 Gold Cup this summer,” Concacaf general secretary Philippe Moggio said in a statement. “The pinnacle of the tournament will be the Gold Cup final at Las Vegas’ brand new Allegiant Stadium. We know that we are in a fortunate position to have fans back in stadiums, and we are thrilled with such a fast sell-out as we can now look forward to a great crowd enjoying the competition’s championship match. The huge demand is a testament to Las Vegas being a first-class destination, Allegiant Stadium being a spectacular venue and of course the commitment of fans who love the game and passionately follow the Gold Cup.”

As part of the day’s festivities, fans with tickets will be urged to arrive early to avoid traffic and long waits, and to stop by the Fan Zone presented by Toyota for a chance to win premium items, play games and take a picture with the Gold Cup trophy.

The Gold Cup final will be broadcast live through the confederation’s partner networks, including Fox Sports (USA-English), Univision (USA-Spanish), OneSoccer (Canada-English), Televisa (Mexico-Spanish), Futbol de Primera (USA-Spanish Radio) and other local partners in the Caribbean, Central America and the world.

The competition will kick off with a new Preliminary Round (Prelims) at DRV PNK Stadium, home o Inter Miami CF, between July 2-6. In the Prelims, 12 nations who qualified through their Concacaf Nations League performances will compete for the final three spots in the 16-team Group Stage.
