Morris Elite FC Vincenzo Bernardo has some great expectations for Danny Szetela.

And why not?

Szetela, 33, bring loads of experience to the USL League Two side, which makes its debut at Motown FC at Drew University in Madison, N.J. Sunday at 7 p.m.

“He’s a soccer head and he loves the game at his age,”  Bernardo said. “He’s so pumped and so ready for this experience with us and he’s ready to be the player that we need him to be. And, he wants to be.

“Bringing a player like him helps us on and off the field. He is an experienced player who’s played all over the world, played Under-20 World Cup, played with professionals that are playing at the highest level right now. He’s someone that we look up to that we that he’s a mentor for our players in our youth system.”

Szetela had hoped to play for the Cosmos, but the team has taken the National Independent Soccer Association season off. It is not known when or if they will return.

“He’s going help us on the field with our with our senior team,” Bernardo said. “I just felt like it was the right fit for him at this point of the career. He is a local New Jersey player. it just worked out perfectly. He believes in the vision that we have with Morris Elite.”
