HARRISON, N.J. – For the first time in three years, the Red Bulls will meet the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park Sunday in their first road match and only trip to the West Coast during the Major League Soccer season.

Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. ET with coverage on FS1, FOX Deportes and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Long-distance travel in MLS has been limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Red Bulls dropped their season and home opener last Saturday, a 2-1 decision to Sporting Kansas City while the Galaxy registered 3-2 win over Inter Miami CF. Mexican international Javier (Chicharito) Hernandez, who finished with a brace, was named MLS player of the week.

The teams will square for the 46th time in league play and 22nd time in Los Angeles. They have split the last five meetings at Dignity Health Sports Park at 2-2-1 with the Red Bulls winning the most recent match in Carson, Calif., 3-2, on April 28, 2018. Austrian winger Daniel Royer scored twice against the Galaxy, including one of the three goals in New York’s 3-2 home win May 4, 2019.

Midfielder Caden Clark picked up where he left off in 2020, opening New York’s team scoring ledger with the first goal of 2021 against SKC April 17. In nine matches across all competitions, he has tallied four goals. Clark has three goals in his five starts across all competitions.

The Red Bulls made 13 additions to their squad since last October and 11 acquisitions since the new year. Of those 11 additions, four made the Starting XI (goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, defender Andrew Gutman, midfielder Youba Diarra and forward Fabio) and one made an appearance (midfielder Wikelman Carmona). The average age of the 11 acquisitions since the start of 2021 is 20.9 years old. Those 11 additions are a diverse group that span seven different countries: Brazil, Colombia, England, Mali, Poland, Venezuela and the United States.

Following Sunday’s match, the Red Bulls return East for a two-match homestand. In their first encounter, they welcome Chicago Fire FC to Red Bull Arena Saturday, May 1 at 1 p.m.
