QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s University women had three players named to the various All-Big East teams.

Red Storm leading scorer Jessica Garziano earned a spot on the first team, while senior Zsani Kajan and freshman Ava Collins received a nod to the second team and freshman team, respectively.

Garzinao pieced together a spectacular spring. In 12 appearances, the Melville, N.Y. native tallied seven goals with two assists for a team-high 16 points. She ranked third in conference scoring. Garziano saw her best offensive output come against Sacred Heart Feb. 25, as the sophomore midfielder recorded the first hat-trick of her collegiate career. She became the second active player on the Red Storm squad to score three times in a single contest.

After being named conference offensive player of the year a season ago, Kajan earned her third career regular season all-league honor. The Budapest, Hungary native netted four goals, including the game-winning score against Seton Hall March 7. Kajan led the Red Storm offensively during conference action, converting on a team-high three goals to tie for fourth in the Big East. The 5-7 forward also registered two assists to finish second on the team with 10 points.

Collins, a two-time Big East rookie of the week, earned a spot on the conference’s All-Freshman Team following an impressive debut season. The Auckland, New Zealand native earned minutes in all 12 matches. Collins paced the way for St. John’s in assists, recording five to tie for third overall in the conference. She also found the back of the net twice. The 5-10 midfielder burst onto the scene in her first collegiate appearance, scoring once and assisting on two goals against the University at Albany. She picked up her second goal of the season while also registering an assist in the Johnnies’ draw with Big East foe Villanova University March 21.
