Yes, it was a hamstring injury that forced Christian Pulisic out of Chelsea’s 5-2 home loss to West Bromwich Albion Saturday.

Pulisic had scored to give the Blues a 1-0 lead at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League match.

“Christian did a sprint when he came back out for the second half and said that he felt his hamstring would not survive the game if he continued,” Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel said on the Chelsea website.

“So we had to make the decision to substitute him straight away.”

Mason Mount, who replaced the U.S. men’s international midfielder, scored the hosts’ second goal.
