PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sophomore defender Anja Suttner scored her third goal of the season in the 89th minute to give the No. 25 Hofstra University a 1-1 draw with Drexel University in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Vidas Athletic Complex Thursday.
Hofstra (6-0-1, 2-0-1) enjoyed a 30-5 shot margin along with a 16-0 edge in corner kicks vs. the Dragons (3-2-1, 1-0-1).
Suttner tallied on Hofstra’s 24th shot when junior forward Miri Taylor controlled a long pass from junior defender Krista Agostinello and passed it inside the box to senior midfielder Lucy Porter. Porter found a charging Suttner, who slid and finished to the goalkeeper’s lower right side.
Hofstra goalkeeper Skylar Kuzmich Kuzmich finished with four saves.
The Pride return to action April 5 at 5:30 p.m. for a non-conference meeting against Adelphi University. The match will also serve as senior day as the program will honor Sabrina Bryan.
