The draws of the men’s and women’s Olympic Soccer tournament will be held at FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland April 21 10 a.m. CET.

The two draws will be streamed live on the FIFA YouTube channel.

The draws will be conducted by Sarai Bareman, FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer, and Jaime Yarza, FIFA Director of Tournaments.

The Japanese men’s team will be positioned as A1 in the procedure for the draw and the match schedule, while the Japanese women’s team will be drawn as E1.

Tokyo Stadium will be the stage for the first match of the Japanese men’s team, while the women’s finalists will fight for the gold medal at the city’s Olympic Stadium, which will also be the setting for the Games’ opening and closing ceremonies. Sapporo, Miyagi, Kashima, Saitama and Yokohama will host games from July 21 until Aug. 7.

Ten teams have already qualified for the women’s tournament, with two more to come. With FIFA continuing to monitor the situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the sport, Cameroon is set to contest a two-legged intercontinental play-off against Chile, which finished second in CONMEBOL’s qualifying tournament. The playoff is scheduled to take place in Turkey April 10 and 13. Korea Republic and China PR also will play off over two legs in April to determine the last Asian representative.

Fourteen teams have qualified for the men’s ournament, with the final two places up for grabs at the Concacaf qualifying tournament taking place in Guadalajara, Mexico through March 30.
