When Haiti meets Honduras in its first Group B Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship Friday, it won’t have its full complement of players and team officials.
Part of Haiti’s delegation arrived in Guadalajara, Mexico too late to conduct COVID-19 testing prior to the match. So, only those players and officials who complied with the competition’s testing regime will participate in the game, Concacaf announced Friday.
It was not immediately known how many players or officials will not be allowed to participate in the 5:30 p.m. ET match.
Concacaf did not release any names.
As for the other three Group B teams, the delegations of Canada, El Salvador and Honduras, and all match officials have conducted COVID-19 testing and there are no new positive cases, the confederation said.
