Taty Castellanos wound up having the first and last words Thursday afternoon.

His second goal of the game snapped a 2-2 tie in the 67th minute to lead New York City FC to its first preseason win, a 3-2 result over host Orlando City Thursday afternoon.

Castellanos converted a penalty kick in the seventh minute after Andres Jasson was fouled in the box.

New York City FC recorded their first win of preseason 2021 on Thursday afternoon, following up last weekend’s narrow defeat to Chicago Fire with a 3-2 win over Orlando City SC.

The visitors were awarded another penalty in the 39th minute as Jasson was fouled in the penalty area after a feed by Jesus Medina.

Medina took the ensuing penalty to boot NYCFC to a two-goal advantage.

Four minutes later, however, Robin Jansson drilled home a long-range shot that was deflected past goalkeeper Luis Barraza to cut the deficit in half heading into the half.

Orlando equalized on an Alexandre Pato goal in the 65th minute.

But Castellanos made sure City answered back only two minutes later as he put home a right-sided feed from Gudi Thórarinsson.

NYCFC had lost its first preseason match to Chicago Fire FC last week.
