BRONX, N.Y. – Red Bulls goalkeeper Ryan Meara will be inducted into the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame Oct. 7.

Meara joins water polo’s Ali Arat, former head rowing coach Ted Bonanno, women’s basketball’s Abigail Corning, softball’s Jocelyn Dearborn, and men’s basketball’s Jay Fazande in the class of 2021. They will be among the 13 inductees who will be announced over the next two weeks.

Many well-known sports personalities are already in the Hall, including Frankie Frisch, Vince Lombardi, Wellington Mara, Charlie Yelverton, Anne Gregory O’Connell and Vin Scully in the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame. The new class is scheduled to be inducted on 2021 Homecoming weekend on Thursday, October 7, on the Rose Hill campus. Specifics will be released when available.

Meara set a school career record with 31 shutouts, was named 2011 Atlantic 10 defensive player of the year, earned first team All-Atlantic 10 honors three consecutive years and won the 2012 Vincent T. Lombardi Award. His career goals-against average of 0.87 is the best in school history.

He will become the second Red Bulls player to be inducted into the Fordham Hall, joining Red Bulls II head coach John Wolyniec, a former MetroStars and Red Bulls forward.

Last season, Meara played 1,232 minutes, recording 48 saves for the Red Bulls.
