SEATTLE – Seattle Sounders FC Thursday announced that forward Jordan Morris has undergone successful left knee surgery.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Bert Mandelbaum in Santa Monica, California Wednesday.
Morris is set to begin rehabilitation immediately following the procedure. Morris suffered the knee injury Feb. 20 in Swansea City’s match vs. Huddersfield Town.
The team did not say for how long Morris will be sidelined.
Morris was loaned to Swansea City Jan. 22 following a 2020 season in which he scored 10 goals and eight assists, earning MLS Best XI honors and his second consecutive Sounders FC team MVP.
The Mercer Island, Wash. native missed the 2018 season with a torn right ACL before returning to win 2019 MLS Comeback Player of the Year after a 10-goal, seven-assist season, where he helped the Rave Green capture the MLS Cup title. Morris has 41 goals and 23 assists in 121 MLS appearances (including postseason play), helping Seattle to four MLS Cup appearances and two championships.
