HARRISON, N.J. – Sky Blue FC goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan underwent a successful surgery on her right quad following an injury sustained during the 2021 SheBelieves Cup.
Sheridan, the Golden Glove winner of the 2020 NWSL Challege Cup, suffered the injury while on international duty with the Canadian women’s national team.
The 25-year-old keeper flew back to New Jersey from the tournament in Orlando, Fla. for the surgery. There is no timetable for her return as of yet.
“Surgery went really well and I am excited to start my recovery process,” Sheridan said in a statement. “I will be pushing myself to come back stronger and better than ever! I am very lucky to have amazing people in my corner who will support me each step along this journey! I am already looking forward to being back on the pitch.”
