METUCHEN, N.J. – United Women’s Soccer Saturday announced its primary competition outline for the upcoming 2021 season.

With a record 40 teams competing in five conferences across the United States and Canada, the national pro-am league kicks off its regular season May 8 and will culminate with a National Championship the weekend of July 23-25.

Conference schedules will be released in March.

There will be a total of 80 teams between UWS and UWS League Two, the league’s new developmental pathway for Under-20-U-23 players and official division for UWS reserve teams.

May 8 – Start date

July 11 – Regular season ends on or before this date

July 15 – Start of conference playoffs

July 23-25 – National championship weekend
