HARRISON, N.J. – Sky Blue FC has signed goalkeeper DiDi Haracic to a new contract for the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League season, it was announced Friday.

The terms of the deal include a one-year contract with a second-year club option.

“I am grateful and excited to get the opportunity to continue doing what I love,” Haracic said in a statement. “After being a part of last year’s success, I am looking forward to getting back in with this talented group of women dedicated to pushing boundaries.”

Haracic, 28, joined Sky Blue in 2019 and has made six appearances, all starts. She played nine games for the Washington Spirit and earned NWSL save of the week honors in Week 20 of the 2017 season.

“We are pleased to re-sign DiDi ahead of the 2021 season,” Sky Blue FC head coach Freya Coombe said in a statement. “DiDi is relentless in her hard work and continues to push herself and those around her to improve each and every day.”

Haracic is a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina women’s national team and has made nine appearances after being called up to the squad in 2018.

“We are glad to bring DiDi back in to compete with our fantastic group of goalkeepers” Sky Blue FC general manager Alyse LaHue said in a statement. “She will continue to push the standards of the group with her vast domestic and international experience.”

Sky Blue FC opens its preseason Monday with the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup set to kick off in mid-April. The team is preparing for a 24-match season, beginning in mid-May.
