The United Soccer Coaches announced Thursday that two members of the Hofstra University women’s team have been named to the 2021 women’s Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List.

Senior midfielder Lucy Porter was named to the list for the second consecutive season while senior forward Sabrina Bryan earned a mention for the first time. Both are the only representatives on the women’s side from the Colonial Athletic Association.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year.

Porter had an outstanding junior campaign in 2019 while capturing several high-profile honors. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America second team after earning Colonial Athletic Association midfielder of the year honors. She also was named to the organization’s All-East Region first tAll-CAA first team, All-ECAC Team, and was the ECAC offensive player of the year, co-player of the Year and the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player. Porter finished last season with a program-record 40 points via 16 goals and eight assists and will enter her season with 31 career goals (fifth all-time at Hofstra) and 74 career points (seventh all-time).

Bryan also had a star-studded junior season in 2019 as she registered 11 goals and eight assists for her second successive 30-plus point season. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America third team and earned CAA pttacking Player of the year accolades while also collecting All-Region first team, All-CAA First Team, All-CAA Team and co-player of the year honors. She is entering her senior season tied for eighth in Hofstra program history with 26 career goals and seventh all-time in points with 68.

The Hofstra women’s soccer program begins preparations for its unique spring season Thursday, Jan. 28. A full schedule for the team will be released in the upcoming weeks.
