Entering its 27th season under the direction of head coach Ian Stone, the St. John’s University women’s team has announced its spring schedule.

The 12-game slate features seven home matches at Belson Stadium.

Broadcast destinations for all games will be announced at a later date. All schedules and championship information are subject to change based on local COVID-19 developments.

The Johnnies will kick off the season with a four-game homestand, beginning with two non-conference matchups against Albany Feb. 21 and Sacred Heart Feb. 25.

Following the Red Storm’s two out-of-league matches, the Johnnies will kick off a 10-game Big East slate against regional rivals. The East Division consists of six teams (University of Connecticut, Georgetown University, Providence College, St. John’s, Seton Hall University and Villanova University). The divisional teams will play home and home matches against each conference opponent.

St. John’s will kick off conference play March 4, when it welcomes Villanova to Belson Stadium. The Johnnies have defeated the Wildcats in seven consecutive matches, including a thrilling 4-3 extratime victory at Villanova a season ago. In the Red Storm’s win, reigning Big East offensive player of the yyear Zsani Kajan led the way for St. John’s with a hat-trick.

Three days later, the Johnnies will welcome Seton Hall to Belson for 1 p.m. matchup with the Pirates. Dating back to 2012, the Johnnies have won eight straight contests against Seton Hall, including a 1-0 victory in Queens last year.

On March 11, the Johnnies will play their first road game of the season, traveling to Connecticut for a 2 p.m. match with the Huskies. This will mark the first meeting with UConn since Sept. 1, 2017, as the Johnnies outlasted the Huskies, 1-0, in the opening game of the CCSU Tournament.

On March 14, the Johnnies will continue their two-game road swing at Georgetown. Despite falling to Xavier in the BIG EAST Championship a season ago, the Hoyas earned their eighth-straight NCAA Tournament berth before losing to West Virginia, 2-0, in the opening round.

Four days later, the Johnnies will return to Belson Stadium for a 3 p.m. contest with Providence before kicking off another two-game road swing at Villanova March 21. The Red Storm will wrap up its road swing at Seton Hall March 25.

Following its second meeting with the Pirates, St. John’s will close out the month of March with a Sunday showdown against UConn March 28 at 2 p.m.

Less than a week later, the Red Storm will welcome Georgetown to Queens April 3 for its final home match of the regular 2021 slate. The Johnnies will wrap up regular-season play April 8, when they travel to Providence for a 3 p.m. meeting.

The Big East Women’s Soccer Championship will be held at Providence April 15-18. The Red Storm has two bye weeks built in for rescheduling purposes if necessary.
