QUEENS, N.Y. – With the start of an unprecedented spring season weeks away, the St. John’s University men’s program has added another commitment to its 2021 recruiting class, as the Johnnies recently picked up a pledge from Will Horn.

Horn, a Montclair, N.J., product who was born in New York City, comes to Queens following a standout prep career at Montclair Kimberley Academy. A four-year starter and two-year team captain, Horn scored seven goals this past fall, helping the Cougars to an 8-5-1 finish and a no. 18 ranking in New Jersey. In his first three high school seasons, Horn helped lead MKA to a record of 40-18-5 with three consecutive appearances in the New Jersey Non-Public B finals.

“Will is a very hardworking, intelligent player that will fit in perfectly with our culture here at St. John’s,” head coach Dr. Dave Masur said in a statement. “He’ll bring not only depth, but a solid sense of leadership to our team.”

Horn recently was named to the East roster for the 2020 High School All-America Game, which because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be played on May 29 in St. Louis.

A three-time All-State selection by the New Jersey Independent School Athletic Association and a two-time non-public All-State selection by NJ.com, Horn was named a regional All-American by United Soccer Coaches this past fall. Horn was also a three-time first team All-Essex County selection.

He played for Cedar Stars Development Academy, tallying seven goals over three seasons as a right back and center back.
