CHICAGO – The National Women’s Soccer League Tuesday released the list of players who have registered for the NWSL draft.
The draft will take place Wednesday, January 13 at 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed live exclusively on Twitch.
On January 6, the NWSL announced that its board of governors voted to expand the draft-eligible pool of collegiate athletes by waiving the requirement for “senior” collegiate athletes to register for the draft and automatically made all players who exhausted three years of intercollegiate soccer eligibility prior to the 2020-2021 academic year eligible.
Registration remains a necessity for any and all athletes who otherwise meet the league’s eligibility requirements, but are not captured in the eligibility change described above. In addition, registration remains an option for those athletes who do meet the definition of “senior.”
