The Red Bulls have dangled both their starting goalkeepers – David Jensen and Ryan Meara – for Austin FC in Tuesday’s MLS expansion draft.
The team can lose only one player to Austin in the draft, which will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
They were among seven players on the roster who are available for selection.
The others included defenders Mandela Egbo, Sean Nealis, Jason Pendant and Amro Tarek and midfielder Jared Stroud.
Five players who were with club in 2020, but whose options were not exercised for next season – Chris Lema, Kendall McIntosh, Marc Rzatkowski, Patrick Seagrist and Samuel Tetteh also are available.
The Red Bulls will protect defenders Kyle Duncan, Aaron Long, and Tim Parker, midfielders Cristian Casseres Jr., Sean Davis, Kaku, Florian Valot, Daniel Royer and Dru Yearwood, and forwards Tom Barlow, Mathias Jorgensen and Brian White.
Three Homegrown players that occupy Supplemental roster spots, defender John Tolkin, along with midfielders Caden Clark and Omir Fernandez are automatically protected.
Recently signed goalkeeper Luca Lewis will be added to the roster in 2021, and will not be available for selection.
