HARRISON, N.J. – The Red Bulls have loaned forward Mathias Jørgensen to Aarhus Gymnastikforening, the club announced Thursday.

Jørgensen joins the Danish side on a six-month loan, with an option to purchase.

“We wish Mathias luck as he goes out on loan,” Red Bulls head of sports Kevin Thelwell said in a statement. “This is a good opportunity for him to continue his development and gain a new set of experiences.”

Jørgensen, 20, signed with New York in 2019 and has made 13 MLS regular-season appearances in 381 minutes played.

In 2020, Jørgensen did not see much action with the MLS side, starting two games over eight appearances and 265 minutes.

The Danish striker also logged time with Red Bulls II, playing in 22 matches with 11 goals in 1,814 minutes played.

He has also seen time with Denmark’s youth national team while at New York, recently logging an appearance for the Under-21 team in an international friendly against Slovakia.
