New York City FC midfielder James Sands is in danger of missing the remainder of the Major League Soccer season after suffering a fracture in his right foot.

Sands did not travel with the team for its game at Orlando City SC Wednesday night.

The club said that Sands “is likely to miss” the rest of the season.

NYCFC has gone through a difficult time of late, losing striker Heber for the season due to a torn ACL. Midfielder Maxi Moralez is still sidelined with a knee injury and midfielder-forward Alexandru Mitrita has been loaned to a Saudi Arabian club.
