HARRISON, N.J. – Sky Blue FC forward Paige Monaghan has been named the National Women’s Soccer League woman of the week after the fourth and final Sky Blue FC Fall Series match, it was announced Tuesday.

Monaghan scored two goals and added an assist in a 3-1 win over the Chicago Red Stars Saturday.

She started the scoring in the 25th minute after tapping in a cross from forward Midge Purce. Ten minutes later, Monaghan whipped a cross into the box to Ifeoma Onumonu, who snuck the ball into the net past goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher.

Purce and Monaghan linked up again in stoppage time for Monaghan’s second goal.

The New Jersey native has a knack for finding the back of the net against Chicago. Monaghan has scored four of her five goals across all NWSL competitions vs. the Red Stars.

The woman of the week honors marks Monaghan’s second of her career after scoring a brace against Chicago in 2019.
