HAMTRAMCK, Mich. — For the second consecutive year, Detroit City FC added another trophy to its cabinet.

In 2019, the Motor City side captured the NPSL Members Cup.

On Friday night, Detroit City FC won the National Independent Soccer Association Fall Tournament title.

Ryan Peterson snapped a 1-1 deadlock in the 84th minute to lift Detroit to a 2-1 come back victory over the Oakland Roots at Keyworth Stadium.

Johnny Rodriguez’s point-blank header off a right wing cross lifted Oakland into a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute.

Substitute Shawn-Claud Lawson leveled in the 66th minute before Peterson’s 11th-hour heroics as he chipped the ball over the goalkeeper’s head from 15 yards out on the left side of the penalty area.

The hosts kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 loss to rival Michigan Stars FC, followed by a 2-1 victory over Oakland and a 4-2 triumph past New Amsterdam FC.

In Wednesday’s semifinals, Detroit recorded a 1-0 win over the LA Force.
