HARRISON, N.J. – The Red Bulls will host a virtual FIFA tournament to celebrate the launch of EA Sports FIFA 21.
The FIFA $5K Faceoff will feature 64 players, including top-ranked U.S. pros, competing for a $5,000 prize pool.
The Playstation tournament will take place on Oct. 8-10, hosted by RBNY Gaming’s Mike LaBelle and George Adamou, the reigning eMLS Cup champion, and produced by OS Studios.
Over two days of live-streamed competition, players will compete in a single-elimination bracket for a place in the finals on Oct. 10. LaBelle and Adamou each will draft five top-ranked U.S. competitors to compete on their side of the bracket, with the rest of the spots in the tournament open to the public.
Fans and competitors can register for a chance to be placed in the tournament. Registration is open using this link, and will remain open until Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. ET. The rest of the tournament spots will be drafted live Oct. 8-9 ahead of tournament play.
Team Mike’s bracket will compete for a spot in the finals on Thursday, Oct. 8, also streamed on LaBelle’s twitch channel. Team George will compete the following day in a live-streamed event on Adamou’s twitch channel.
The finals will take place Oct. 10, streamed live on the New York Red Bulls twitch channel, with LaBelle and Adamou joining live from OS Studios in Manhattan. The RBNY gamers will play a head-to-head match in advance of the tournament final.
