MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Omar Sowe scored twice in the opening 19 minutes to ignite Red Bulls II to a 5-4 triumph over the Philadelphia Union II at Montclair State University in a USL Championship game Saturday night.
Sowe started off with goals in the 13th and 19th minute before Philly got on the scoreboard with a Jack McGlynn penalty kick in the 43rd minute.
Alex Picazo equalized in the 55th minute before the hosts took control of the match within a two-minute period.
Jake Lacava scored unassisted in the 65th minute before Bo Cummins made it 4-2 two minutes later.
McGlynn’s second goal pulled the visitors within a goal in the 69th minute.
Joe Fala’s goal, however, restored NYRBII’s two-goal lead in the 86th minute before Luis Flores converted Union II’s second penalty of the match in the 90th minute.
