NEW YORK – New England Revolution head coach Bruce Arena was suspended for two additional gamesand fined $15,000 by Major League Soccer Monday, for confrontational conduct and unacceptable and offensive language directed towards match officials.

Garber announced the sanctions for Arena’s “unacceptable conduct and use of inappropriate language.”

Arena served the first game of his suspension for the red card on during New England’s 1-0 loss to the Union in the MLS is Back Tournament.

The former U.S. national team coach will serve the additional two-match suspension during New England’s matches against D.C. United Aug. 25 and Red Bulls Aug. 29.
