Youth soccer returns to Long Island with three tournaments over the next three weeks.

It will begin with the East Meadow Tournament this weekend.

As per U.S. Soccer’s guidelines on return-to-play, the tourneys are only allowed to accept teams from their own region and neighboring counties.

The tourney is named after Bob Schrager, who is remembered by his friend, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association ODP director Jim Volpe, as “being vice president for Oceanside United for a couple of years, but what stood out was that he was a true volunteer in every sense of the word. Did what had to be done and always with a smile.”
