It turned out to be a tough weekend for New Amsterdam FC.
On Friday night, the National Independent Soccer Association expansion team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Cosmos.
On Sunday afternoon, NAFC lost to Maryland Bobcats FC, 7-1 in the NISA Independent Cup.
Because the club played Friday, New Amsterdam used many youth players in Sunday’s encounter.

Maryland then scored six second-half goals to pull away.
New Amsterdam, which finished the competition at 0-2-1, returns to league action at Chattanogga FC Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
