The Rochester Lancers will have a double celebration when they return to action in 2021.
Their indoor and outdoor teams will wear throw-back shirts honors the anniversaries of a pair of Rochester soccer accomplishments.
In 1970, the original Lancers captured the North American Soccer League title. This year of its 50th anniversary, but the Lancers could not celebrate the achievement because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the Major Arena Soccer League shut down early, the Lancers and Lady Lancers never got on the field for the National Premier Soccer League and United Women’s Soccer seasons.

In 1996, the Rochester Rhinos made their A-League debut and went onto capture several championships, including the 1999 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup crown, and create several memorable moments of their own over the years.
