CHESTER, Pa. — Red Bulls II failed to hold onto a one-goal lead and suffered a 3-2 defeat to the Philadelphia Union II in a USL Championship match at Subaru Park Wednesday night.

NYRBII (2-0-3, 6 points) incurred its third loss on the road. Union II (1-4-1, 4) recorded its first win of the season.

Philly’s Jack McGlynn scored the equalizing goal and set up Jack Jasinski’s game-winner in the 71st minute.

The hosts went up in the first minute on Patrick Kadei Bohui’s goal.

In the 37th minute, Sebastian Elney was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty. He leveled the match with his second goal of the season.

Cherif Dieye recorded his first professional goal in the 43rd minute to give NYRB II a 2-1 edge.

Four minutes into first-half stoppage time, Union II midfielder Jack McGlynn tapped knotted things up at 2-2 before Jasinski’s game-winner in the 71st minute.

NYRB II midfielders Kenny Hot and Tapiwa Shumba made their professional debuts.

Team captain Chris Lema made his 62th appearance moving him into second all-time for appearances.

Defender John Tolkin made his first appearance since Oct. 16, 2019 against Birmingham Legion FC.

NYRB II will travel to Highmark Stadium to take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+).
