FrontRowSoccer.com has been honored twice by the Press Club of Long in its annual media awards.
Competing in the sports feature category against daily and weekly newspapers and websites across the island, FrontRowSoccer.com took second and third place.
Written by editor Michael Lewis, both stories featured Long Island natives Allie Long (Northport, N.Y.) and Crystal Dunn (Rockville Centre, N.Y), who competed for the United States in the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France. Both players played for the Albertson Soccer Club (Long Island Junior Soccer League).
Allie’ Long Journey took second-place honors while a story about Dunn being arguably the world’s most versatile women’s second player finished third.
Long Island Weekly captured first-place honors with a story entitled Mikey the Mighty by Mike Adams.
