Yearwood had participated in the Southend United youth sysem at 11 before he was promoted to the first team in 2017. He was nominated as Apprentice of the Year award at the 2018 EFL Awards. He did not score in 53 appearances for Southend United.

He had been called up to the England Under-18 national team in 2018, but he didn’t play due to a hamstring injury.
