HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bulls II signed forward Jake LaCava to a USL Championship contract, the club announced Friday.

The contract is pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

LaCava, 19, most recently played for Red Bulls Academy. He made eight appearances and scored one goal in the 2019-20 season.

“Jake is an exciting young player with a lot of potential,” NYRB II head coach John Wolyniec said. “Over the last year, he has worked hard to fit into our style and we are lucky to get a chance to help him continue that work.”

LaCava started his academy career with Barca Academy in 2017. He made 35 appearances and recorded 14 goals in two seasons. The Gouverneur, N.Y. native played for LA Galaxy Academy in 2018, in which he made eight appearances and tallied one goal.

He has featured for the U.S. youth national team, starting with the Under-16 side and most recently appeared for the U-18’s.
