MIAMI – The start of the MLS Is Back Tournament is still several weeks away and already two players have tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier on Thursday, Atlanta United said one of its players had the virus.
Later that night, Inter Miami CF announced that one of its players had tested positive after a round of mandatory club testing this week.
Inter Miami CF did not identify the player
In a press release, Inter Miami stated that its medical staff was working directly with local infectious disease specialists to treat the player, who was asymptomatic and has been observing isolation protocols since he self-identified being in close contact with an individual who showed mild symptoms during a health screening questionnaire administered daily to players.
