MIAMI — Concacaf announuced Friday that it had suspended the 2020 Girls Under-15 Championship and the 2020 Men’s U-17 qualifiers.

Those were due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release, the confederation said it suspended both competitions “given the ongoing uncertainty about when football can resume in our region.”

“The health and welfare of everyone involved in our sport is our first priority and we continue to monitor and follow the guidance provided by Governments and public health authorities,” Concacaf said in a statement.

Concacaf said that it will continue to discuss with our member associations, FIFA and other stakeholders proposals to reorganize its competitions so that the organization is “well prepared when our sport can safely resume in the future.”
