MIAMI – Concacaf Wednesday suspended the 2020 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tournament was scheduled to take place between June 20 and July 5.

No date has been set to play the competition as of yet.

“The health and welfare of everyone involved in our sport is our first priority and we continue to monitor and follow the guidance provided by governments and public health authorities across our region,” the confederation said in a statement.

Concacaf said it will continue to discuss with its member associations, FIFA and other stakeholders proposals to “reorganize our competitions so we are well prepared when our sport can safely resume in the future.”
