The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another casualty — the annual Kicking and Screaming Film Festival in New York City, at least for the time being.

The festival, which usually is held in early June, was postponed Thursday by its organizers.

It was not known when it will take place this year.

Soccer fans still can put in for submissions here.

The organizers said they were working on a virtual festival, although in a press release they said they were “not sure what it will look like yet.”

“The idea is to stream a bunch of soccer shorts one night, though the real motivation is to get the soccer film community together — which is really what the … festival is all about,” a statement said.

The festival has run every year since 2009.
