Hank Steinbrenner, co-owner of the New York Yankees and New York City FC, has died.

He was 63.

Steinbrenner, who celebrated his birthday on April 2, passed away at his home in Clearwater, Fla. from a “longstanding health issue,” according to a statement from the baseball club. His death was not related to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

After the death of their father George Steinbrenner in 2010, Hank and his brother Hal assumed control of the team.

Steinbrenner is survived by Hal, sisters Jessica and Jennifer, and his four children.

The Yankees own 20 percent of NYCFC, while the City Football Group controls 80 percent.

NYCFC has called Yankee Stadium home since the start of the 2015, when it joined Major League Soccer.

City did not respond for requests for a comment.
