Long Island Soccer Football League president Gus Xikis, who recently was hospitalized dealing with a serious medical condition, is “slowly making progress.”

Xikis is not suffering from Coronavirus (COVID-19). His ailment is not known.

The LISFL tweeted about Xikis’ progress late Monday night:

“Please continue to keep #LISFL President Gus Xikis in your thoughts and prayers. He’s slowly making progress and has a long road to recovery ahead.”

Xikis has been LISFL president since 2011.

One of the leading figures and advoates of amateur soccer in the tri-state area, Xikis is second vice president of the Eastern New York State Soccer Association, a member of the LISFL Hall of Fame and a league life member.
