Four Cosmos players who were on loan to Detroit City FC for the National Independent Soccer Association spring season have returned to the club and will begin training for the fall season on June 1.

The decision was made in wake of NISA’s suspension of operations until May 10 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The league made the decision last week.

The players on loan were defender Matt Lewis, midfielders Darwin Espinal and Salvatore Barone and forward Isaac Acuna.

The Cosmos also have signed captain Danny Szetela, who has been with the club since its 2013 reboot season, defenders Emmanuele Sembroni and Konrad Plewa for the fall campaign.

The team had been training at the LI Sports Hub in Syosset, N.Y. and at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y. when weather permitted.
