HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bulls II host the Hartford Athletic in its second match of the USL Championship season at MSU Soccer Park on Friday at 7 p.m.
NYRB II is coming off a 1-0 season-opening loss at home to the Tampa Bay Rowdies last week. Goalkeeper Wallis Lapsley performed well in his first professional game, recording two saves.
The last time these two sides met, NYRB II defeated Hartford, 5-1, on Aug. 10 2019. NYRB II got goals from Jared Stroud and Chris Lema, among others. NYRB II holds a 2-0-0 lifetime record against Hartford.
Hartford heads into its season opener as the team begins its second season. The club finished 17th in the Eastern Conference in 2019, going 8-21-5 with 29 points.
Following Friday’s match, NYRB II hits the road, visiting Charlotte Independence on March 21 at 7 p.m.
