Is New York City FC about to add a top youth defensive midfielder to its roster?

According to a report out of Uruguay from Sport 890’s Andres Cancellera, Uruguayan youth international Nicolas Acevedo will join the MLS club.

Acevedo plays for Liverpool (English Premier League).

NYCFC hosts San Carlos (Costa Rica) in the second leg of its Round of 16 series in the Concacaf Champions League at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
