TUCSON, Ariz. — The Red Bulls overcame a one-goal deficit to register a 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew SC in the Visit Tucson Sun Cup on Wednesday night.

Forward Brian White tallied off a poor clearance in the second half.

Columbus drew first blood in the second minute as former Red Bulls midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr. connected. Etienne was released by the Red Bulls in the offseason.

Goalkeeper David Jensen made his first appearance for the Red Bulls after joining the squad in mid-February.

Red Bulls midfielder Omir Fernandez had to be removed from the match after he was fouled during the second half. Columbus’ player was issued a red card and the team played down a man for the remainder of the way.

The Red Bulls close out their preseason schedule against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. They open the MLS regular season against FC Cincinnati at Red Bull Arena on March 1.
