ROCHESTER, N.Y.  – In their busiest weekend on the road this season, the Rochester Lancers will play their game within 24 hours as they visit Utica City FC on Sunday.
The Major Arena Soccer League game at the Adirondack Bank Center will kick off at 2 p.m.
The Lancers (0-14) are coming off a 14-5 defeat at the Baltimore Blast on Saturday night as Jeremy Loncao, Frank Ciliberto, Alex Harling, Matt D’Amico and Michael Cunningham tallied goals.
Rochester played its finest first half of the season, trailing Baltimore 4-3 at the half before the hosts pulled away in the second half.
Sunday’s contest will be the second encounter between the Lancers and Utica City FC this season. Utica City FC posted a 9-1 win over Rochester in the latter’s season-opening victory at the Dome Arena on Nov. 29. Moises Gonzalez paced Utica City FC with a four goals and former Lancer Uros Momic added two goals.
Utica City FC (8-3), which is in third place in the Eastern Division and has won its last two games, is coming off a 4-3 home triumph over the St. Louis Ambush on Jan. 31. Forward Ricardo De Queiroz Diegues, who had a goal and an assist, earned the first star of the game. The team is 5-1 at home.
Midfielder Cristhian Segura (15 goals, 6 assists) and De Queiroz Diegues (15 goals, 5 assists) have paced Utica this season, followed by forwards Bo Jelovac (6 goals, 11 assists) and Moises Gonzalez (9 goals, 7 assists).
MASL all-star and former Lancers defender-midfielder Jake Schindler (6 goals, 5 assists) has played an important role with Utica.
Rochester will remain the road next week at the team plays at the Florida Tropics in Lakeland, Fla. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Lancers return home to the Dome Arena in Henrietta, N.Y. for the weekend of Feb. 21-22. They will host Utica City FC on Friday, Feb. 21 and the Blast on Saturday, Feb. 22. Both contests begin at 7 p.m.
