Will New York City FC host a Concacaf Champions League game at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.?

According to a report on Costa Rican website crhoy.com, the Major League Soccer team will welcome San Carlos SA for a second-leg match on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the home of its archrivals, the Red Bulls.

Because Yankee Stadium wasn’t available, NYCFC has been searching for a proper venue in the city, but could not find one to the liking of Concacaf.

“They wanted to avoid playing there because of the rivalry they have with the Red Bulls, but in the end they had no choice,” San Carlos sports manager Gustavo Perez was quoted by crhoy.com. “In principle we were going to play in the stadium of a university.”

The first leg is scheduled for Feb. 20.
