KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There’s no rest for the weary as the Rochester Lancers will play their second consecutive Major Arena Soccer League game within 24 hours on the road on Sunday.

After Saturday night’s 15-3 loss at the defending champion Milwaukee Wave, the Lancers will take on the Kansas City Comets for the first time in five years at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena at 4 p.m. ET.

The young Lancers (0-10) are vying for their first win of the season.

In Saturday night’s match, rookie Matt D’Amico assisted on goals by Diego Mayanga, Daniel Reger and Anthony Rozzano, who leads the Lancers in scoring (five goals, five assists). For the first time this season, the Lancers scored the first goal of the match and led in a game for the first time. The Wave broke open the game with 10 goals in the second half.

The Comets (5-6), who are in seventh place in the Eastern Division, are coming off an excruciating 7-6 overtime loss to the Wave on Martin Luther King Day on Monday.

Player-coach Leo Gibson leads KC in scoring with 16 goals and 15 assists while defender Ray Lee has contributed 10 goals and four assists.

Kevin Ellis, the MASL player of the week after a five-goal performance in a 14-6 win over the Orlando Seawolves on Jan. 10 and a brace in a 9-8 victory over the Wave on Jan. 17, has been listed as probable after missing the Wave loss on Monday due to Achilles tendinitis.

Comets rookie goalkeeper Nicolau Neto is expected to make his third consecutive start.

Fans can watch the Comets’ match on MASL.TV.

The Lancers return home to meet the Baltimore Blast at the Dome Arena in Henrietta, N.Y. on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. ET. At halftime, 20 individuals will be inducted as the inaugural class of the Lancers indoor Wall of Fame. Rochester will welcome the St. Louis Ambush on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. ET.
