After New Year’s Day, FrontRowSoccer.com will honor some of the leading players, coaches and personalities from the metropolitan area that made a difference in 2019.

We will name our players and coaches of the year in college men’s and women’s soccer, professional women’s and men’s soccer and our personality of the year.

To be eligible, a player or coach will have had to play for a team in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, or hail from the metropolitan area.

Front Row Soccer editor Michael Lewis has covered 13 World Cups (eight men, five women), seven Olympics and 25 MLS Cups. He has written about New York City FC, New York Cosmos, the New York Red Bulls and both U.S. national teams for Newsday and has penned a soccer history column for the Guardian.com.
