Starting on Friday, Dec. 20, FrontRowSoccer.com will look back at the top 10 stories of the year, local and national.

With the growth of the sport at all levels, there was plenty to write and read about in 2019.

In the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, New York City FC, the Red Bulls, Cosmos and Sky Blue FC all made news in their own ways. And that’s not to forget the college and amateur scenes as well, plus the announcement of a new team, Queensborough FC, that will make its debut in 2021.

Nationally, the U.S. women’s success at the World Cup and its aftermath dominated the news, but there was plenty of other big stories, including the bumpy road taken by the U.S. men’s national team, Seattle Sounders FC winning its second title in three years and a few other intriguing stories that helped to round out the year.

The countdown starts on Friday, Dec. 20.
